Illini Film and Video is the largest filmmaking organization at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign campus. Since it was formed in 2000, IFV has helped thousands of students take part in the filmmaking process.
I joined the club my Freshman year in 2006, and in these four years, the club has evolved and expanded. Now in the 2009-2010 academic year, IFV helps make dozens of projects, sponsors several filmmaking competitions and events, and continues to expand and improve its filmmaking resources.
IFV is in its tenth year, and I am personally excited to start it. With your help, we can continue to make IFV an even better organization, share our passion for filmmaking, and make new friends in the filmmaking community here in Champaign and Urbana.
If you are a member of IFV, welcome to another great year. If you are interested in becoming one, anyone is welcome. Feel free to come to any of our meetings, sign up for our e-mail list, contact producers in our projects page, read the forums to see what is going on, and look at the news to read about IFV happenings. Be sure to also look at the films section to see some projects members have made, and look though our equipment to see what you can use for your project.
IFV is a diverse group, made up of students in every major in every department in every college. We are directors, actors, writers, cinematographers, and editors to name a few, all with many different skill sets and many different levels of expertise. But mostly, we are people like you who love filmmaking, and love sharing in the creative process.
Welcome to Illini Film and Video.
